In Memory of George Ellsworth Kenyon
This is my daddy. He had blonde curly hair and was a dapper lad. I think all these young guys look adorable ! This is his Naval photo in San Diego, 1951 and on his way to the Korean War. Did you know this War never ended?
The fighting ended on 27 July 1953, when the armistice was signed. The agreement created the Korean Demilitarized Zone to separate North and South Korea, and allowed the return of prisoners. Clashes have continued to the present.
Dad's dad, Commander George Ellsworth Kenyon was an intimidating force for us grandchildren. I don't remember him much but he seemed very stoic.
I'll bet a lot of you out there have photos like these!
Never Forget.
